Concerts and Musical Festivals

Picture this: you're sitting in the grass on a warm summer night. While the sun sets and the stars begin to appear, music fills the air around you. In Albany, this isn't a fantasy or even a one-time event--it's a weekly tradition. Join us for one of the many concerts and music festivals in Albany each year:

River Rhythms: For 30 years the River Rhythms concert series has been hosting free Thursday night concerts in the Monteith Riverpark during July and August. The concerts vary in musical genre--past acts have included everything from classical pieces by the Oregon Symphony to classic rock from the band Foghat. What doesn't vary is the beautiful setting and the inescapably fun summer concert vibe. Bring the kids down early to do a free art activity. Wander through the food court and get an ice cream cone or a burger. Sit in the grass and let the music wash over you, or get on your feet and dance all night. Whatever you do, don't miss the fun at Albany's favorite summer concert series.

Summer Sounds: If a mellower concert is more your style, come to Mondays at Monteith. This free concert series is in the same beautiful outdoor venue as River Rhythms, but typically features a smaller crowd. Wander down to the park on a Monday night and enjoy another free musical event in Albany.

The Oregon Jamboree: Oregon's original outdoor country music festival, the Oregon Jamboree has been bringing Nashville stars to Sweet Home, Oregon, for more than 20 years. Held in beautiful Sankey Park, this country music festival features 22 shows over the course of a three-day weekend. You can camp onsite or drive to the Oregon Jamboree; it's about 35 minutes east of Albany. Other performance venues like the Russell Tripp Theater at Linn-Benton Community College, LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University, and local restaurants and pubs are also home to live music throughout the year.
