The Kids Fishing Derby returns to Timber Linn Park for a morning of outdoor fun, fishing, and friendly competition. Hosted at Timber Linn Pond—freshly stocked with rainbow trout by the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife—this free event welcomes children ages 4–12 to test their skills and enjoy the great outdoors.
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event, and fishing begins at 7:30 a.m. Early registration forms can also be picked up in advance at Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Participants will be grouped into four age brackets and can compete for prizes and awards. Volunteers will be available to assist, and loaner equipment will be on hand for those who need it.
The first 200 children to register will receive a free Fishing Derby goody bag, and all participants will receive an official Del Taco scorecard to track their catch. At 11:00 a.m., scorecards will be collected and awards given for the largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught. Special “tagged” fish offer the chance to win big prizes, including rod and reel combos.
