Concerts and Live Music

Imagine sitting in the grass on a warm summer night. As the sun sets and stars begin to appear, music fills the air around you. In Albany, this isn’t a fantasy or even a one-time event—it’s a weekly tradition.

For more than 30 years, the River Rhythms concert series has brought free Thursday evening performances to Monteith Riverpark throughout July and August. Set along the scenic banks of the Willamette River, this beloved concert series showcases a wide range of genres—from classical works by the Oregon Symphony to rock legends like Foghat. Thanks to recent renovations, Monteith Riverpark now includes expanded seating areas, modern restrooms, and improved accessibility features such as paved pathways and accessible viewing areas, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the music comfortably. Arrive early for family-friendly art activities, explore the local food court, and experience the welcoming, high-energy atmosphere that defines summer in Albany.

Another highlight is the Oregon Jamboree, Oregon’s original outdoor country music festival held in Sweet Home—just 35 minutes from Albany. Hosted in picturesque Sankey Park and the surrounding grounds, this three-day event features 22 live shows by country music stars, onsite camping, and a lively festival experience rooted in community spirit.

Live music continues beyond summer with performances at venues like the Russell Tripp Performance Center at Linn-Benton Community College and the LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University. Albany's local pubs and restaurants also host musicians year-round.

One such staple is Froggy's Blues Jam at Calapooia Brewing, Oregon’s longest-running blues jam. Now in its 19th year, this high-energy event takes place nearly every Sunday from 3-6 p.m. in the brewery’s covered atrium. It’s free and open to all ages—including well-behaved dogs. Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments and join in. Please note the jam is not held on Super Bowl Sunday, during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas, or when the weather dips below 45 degrees. Check their calendar for updates and additional music events.

Food truck pods have also become gathering places for music lovers. The Barn at Hickory Station in North Albany features frequent live performances in a spacious, family-friendly setting. With more than 20 food trucks on rotation and a wide selection of local beers and ciders, it’s a popular spot to grab a bite and catch a show. Charli’s on I-5, located just off the freeway, hosts live music on select evenings and offers a relaxed atmosphere with multiple food vendors, drinks on tap, and plenty of outdoor seating.

In North Albany, 4th Fridays at Springhill Cellars offer a relaxed, wine-country concert experience. From May through August, Springhill Cellars Winery opens its grounds every fourth Friday evening from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy local wine, cider, and beer from Albany-based breweries such as Deluxe and Calapooia, plus rotating food options like food trucks and catered spreads. You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic. Live jazz from Just Lonna (sometimes with a band) begins at 7 p.m., creating the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening. Reservations are strongly recommended—call (541) 974-0917 to reserve your spot.

Each July, the Linn County Fair brings national touring acts to the stage alongside rides, food, and family fun. And during the Northwest Art & Air Festival in August, the air is filled not just with hot air balloons but also with the sounds of live music, including a headline Saturday night concert.

From intimate vineyard concerts and casual brewery jams to large-scale festivals under the stars, Albany offers a diverse and welcoming music scene for every taste.
