Sweater Weather and Local Treasures
November in Albany, Oregon

November brings a mix of reflection, celebration, and community connection. From honoring veterans to discovering handcrafted goods at local markets, this season invites you to slow down and take part in the moments that make autumn in our region so memorable.

Celebrate the season with German flair at Springhill Cellars’ Federweisser German Fall Festival and Barn Dance. Enjoy Federweisser (an unfiltered, cider-like Pinot Noir) paired with Zwiebelkuchen, bratwurst from Pepper Tree Sausage House, and live oompah music. Play cornhole, board games, and cards to keep things lively all weekend. Jazz fans can catch Just Lonna and The Lake Effect performing at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. The festival runs November 28 to 30. Admission is $5 per person, per day, and includes a free tasting for those 21 and older. Entry is free for kids under 15 and anyone in traditional German dress. Food is cash-only.

Albany is proud to recognize and celebrate the service of veterans through a variety of meaningful events and displays. From heartfelt tributes to family-friendly gatherings, here’s how you can commemorate Veterans Day in our community.

Begin Veterans Day with a hearty, all-you-can-eat breakfast hosted by the Albany Optimist Club. The Veterans Day Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. on November 11 at West Albany High School, 2100 Elm St. SW. Enjoy a full spread of ham, eggs, pancakes, coffee, milk, and orange juice. Admission is $13 per person, $10 for veterans and active military, and $7 for kids.

Join one of the largest Veterans Day parades west of the Mississippi as Downtown Albany comes alive with patriotic pride. The 74th Annual Linn County Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. on November 11 and features marching bands, floats, veterans, military vehicles, and community groups. Food carts will be available near the route for snacks and warm drinks.

Downtown businesses will also host a Military Uniform Display from November 6 through 15, showcasing authentic uniforms from different eras.

The Albany Visitors Association will be open on Veterans Day offering free coffee, hot chocolate, and apple cider to visitors. You're welcome to stop by to warm up or use the public restroom.

Find parade details and route information on the Linn County Veterans Day Parade website.

From November 8 through 11, visit the Wall of Honor at Heritage Mall. This powerful traveling memorial pays tribute to service members who lost their lives in combat from 2001 through 2021, including those who served in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Managed by Vets Helping Vets HQ since 2014, the Wall of Honor provides a solemn space for remembrance and reflection.

At 8:30 a.m., join the community for a Veterans Day Memorial Service at the Linn County Veterans Memorial in Timber Linn Memorial Park, located at 900 Price Rd. SE in Albany. This moving tribute honors those who served and sets a meaningful tone for the day’s events. All are welcome.

The 25th Annual Ag Expo takes place November 11 through 13 at the Linn County Expo Center in Albany. Explore more than 200,000 square feet of exhibits, farm equipment, hands-on learning, and seminars. Highlights include “Dine Around Oregon” and an educational display by Oregon Women for Agriculture. The event is open to all ages, with a special welcome to 4-H and FFA participants. Admission: $5.
