Reel in the Fun
The Northwest Fly Tyer & Fly Fishing Expo gathers anglers for fly tying, casting demos, youth activities, and shopping. Hosted at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center, this annual event draws experts and hobbyists from across the region. Visitors can learn new techniques, meet experienced fly tyers, and find quality gear all in one place. The event takes place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 13 and 14. It is an engaging way to experience Albany’s connection to the outdoors and nearby rivers.
Curiouser and Curiouser
Albany Civic Theater brings Alice in Wonderland to the stage, whisking audiences into a topsy-turvy world of talking rabbits, mad tea parties, and unexpected surprises. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on March 6, 7, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21. Matinee shows begin at 2:30 p.m. on March 8 and 15. Doors open 45 minutes before each show. Admission is $18. This family-friendly production is an easy choice for a Spring Break evening.
Treasure Hunt Time
The Linn County Flea Market returns with more than 85 vendors, antiques, collectibles, food trucks, and family-friendly fun all day long. Shoppers can browse vintage finds, handmade goods, and one-of-a-kind treasures while enjoying local eats. With so many vendors under one roof, it is easy to spend a relaxed afternoon discovering something unexpected. Get in early at 8 a.m. on March 21 for $10, then regular admission is $5 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets are cash only at the door.
Cocktails for a Cause
Mixology Madness returns as the annual fundraiser hosted by the Albany Downtown Association, bringing an evening of handcrafted cocktails, friendly competition, and live jazz. Guests can sample drinks created by local mixologists, vote for the People’s Choice Award, enjoy full-size versions of featured cocktails, savor appetizers from downtown restaurants, and bid on silent auction packages that support local businesses. Tickets are $50. The event takes place 4 to 7 p.m. on March 15 at Flinn Block Hall.

All Aboard for Winterail
Winterail returns for its 48th year with a full day of railroad digital shows, a collectibles sale, and a photo contest. Rail fans from across the country gather to share photography, stories, and history in an immersive setting.
Admission is $45. The event takes place 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 28 at the Russell Tripp Performance Center on the Linn-Benton Community College Campus.
In conjunction with the event, Santiam Excursion Trains offers the special four-hour Winterail Excursion: A Steam Photo Experience departing from Lebanon at 9 a.m. on March 27. The excursion includes at least one photo stop, giving photographers rare access and memorable views. Excursion tickets are required and priced separately.
Get Ready for the Gun Show
The Albany Rifle and Pistol Club Sportsman Show welcomes collectors, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts for a full weekend of browsing and connection. Vendors offer firearms, accessories, and related gear in a welcoming environment, for both seasoned collectors and first-time attendees. The show runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 7 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 8. Admission is $10 for non-members.
