Thanks for visiting the Albany Visitors Blog… My name is Shawn and I will be updating the the blog section much more frequently… First off I want to hear from you… so feel free to leave your comments about the new additions to the websites, your lovely thoughts of Albany, or anything you feel like sharing with the wonderful Albany world…. AVA Photo Contest 2008
The Albany Visitors Association is sponsoring a photography contest. It is open to photographers of all skill levels. Awards will be given to winners in each of five categories and cash awards will be given to grand prize winners. There will also be an award for Peoples Choice. Photos will be displayed in a gallery show at the Two Rivers Market in March and April and in a summer display at City Hall, put on by the Albany Arts Commission. Selected photos from this contest may be used for promotional purposes, such as inclusion in the new Discover Albany brochure, to promote tourism in Albany and the region. Deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Linn County Cultural Coalition Grant Information 2008
The Linn County Cultural Coalition is currently soliciting proposals for projects in the arts, historical heritage, and humanities in Linn County. The Coalition has a total of approximately $10,000 available for grants in this first funding cycle.
