38th Annual Nighttime Magic Holiday Light Contest
Each winter Albany celebrates the holidays with light displays full of wonder and whimsy! Drive through town and enjoy dazzling displays in our 38th annual Nighttime Magic Holiday Light Contest, then vote for your favorite.
Homeowners are invited to enter their creations into the contest, and the Albany Visitors Association (AVA) creates a map of all the homes. Members of the community and visitors are encouraged to explore Albany to view the lights and vote for their favorite displays. Is your house decorated for the holidays? Fill out the participant form by December 8 for a chance to win prizes generously donated by PARR Lumber just in time for the holiday season!
1st Place: $200 certificate to PARR Lumber
2nd Place: $150 certificate to PARR Lumber
3rd Place: $75 certificate to PARR Lumber
This year we added the Nighttime Magic Scavenger Hunt. Entry sheets will include a close-up of each light display. Fill in the correct address for each photo for a chance to win a $50 gift card to PARR Lumber! One entry per correct match.
The AVA also includes the gorgeous downtown holiday window displays on the map. Return to this page to get maps and vote, beginning on December 10.
CONTEST RULES
- Displays must be within Albany city limits
- Displays need to stay lit from 5-10 p.m. starting December 8 through January 1 – or longer if you wish!
- Photos are required. Submit up to five photos and one 15-30 second video of your display through the second page of the entry form. (Click the "Save and Next" button to move to the file upload page.)
You may provide information about a neighbor to nominate them. We’ll contact them for permission to include their display.
The entry form will close and voting starts on Friday, December 8. Lights shine December 8 through January 1. Community voting ends and scavenger entries are due December 22.
