Nighttime Magic

Albany's 2026 Holiday Lights Contest & Scavenger Hunt

Light up Albany this December and show off your holiday spirit by entering Albany's annual Holiday Lights Contest. Nighttime Magic invites residents to express their creativity and community pride by decorating their homes with dazzling lights.

Each display gets featured on the official 2026 Nighttime Magic Map, available online starting December 8. Then, throughout the holidays, neighbors and visitors can soak up the holiday cheer by following the map and voting for their favorite house.

On your self-guided light tour, add to the fun by playing our Nighttime Magic Scavenger Hunt. Print out or pick up a scavenger hunt form at the Albany Visitors Association, starting the same day as the map.

HOW TO ENTER YOUR DISPLAY:

Fill out the Contest Entry Form by December 6
All participating homes must be within Albany city limits
Lights must be kept on from 5 to 10 p.m. through January 1
If your light display is temporarily shut off due to unforeseeable conditions, contact us promptly so that we can update the map until lights are back on.
Photos are required. Please submit photos of your display lit up at night. Feel free to use photos from previous years. The contest aims for voters to view the lights in person, not photos.
If you have trouble uploading your photos to the form, please email Info@AlbanyVisitors.com with your display title.

The entry form closes, and voting starts on December 8. Lights shine December 8 through January 1. Community voting ends, and scavenger entries are due December 21.
