Preserving the Past:
Structural Health Assessment
Albany's Historic 1929 Hangar

Join Mariapaola Riggio, PhD, Associate Professor in Wood Design and Architecture at Oregon State University, and her graduate students as they demonstrate methods for assessing the structural health of historic timber buildings. The presentation, part of their Structural Health Assessment and Monitoring of Timber Structures class, highlights a holistic approach to evaluating how aging, environment, and maintenance affect wood structures over time. With a focus on reliability and preservation, the event also explores the growing interest in conserving architectural timber heritage.

This special demonstration takes place inside the historic 1929 Hangar at the Albany Air Museum, Wings of History. Cookies will be provided.
